Lessons in Leadership from the Dave Ramsey EntreLeadership Master Series

I’m always on the lookout for insights and strategies that can help green industry professionals like myself take our businesses to the next level. That’s why I was thrilled to have Jadon Wise, the Operations Leader at Arbor Care Lawn & Pest, back on the show to share his experience attending the Dave Ramsey EntreLeadership Master Series.

Jadon is no stranger to the podcast—this was his third time joining me, and it’s clear he’s someone deeply committed to continuous learning and growth, both personally and professionally. When he told me he had the opportunity to attend the prestigious EntreLeadership event, I knew we had to get him on the show to unpack all the valuable lessons he took away.

What struck me most about Jadon’s experience was the sheer intensity of the 5-day program. From in-depth sessions on time management and core values to thought-provoking discussions on tackling uncomfortable conversations and making better decisions, the Ramsey team left no stone unturned in equipping business leaders for success.

One of the key takeaways Jadon shared, which really resonated with me, was the importance of understanding your team’s DISC profiles. As someone with a high-D, high-I personality myself, I know how critical it is to adapt your communication style to meet the needs of different team members. Jadon’s insights on how this knowledge can prevent miscommunication and improve overall team dynamics were incredibly valuable.

But it wasn’t just the business-focused content that left an impression on Jadon. He also spoke about the profound personal growth he experienced, particularly in confronting past failures and their lingering impact on a leader’s mindset. The reminder that “hurt may hurt, but it must include hope” is something I’ve been reflecting on in my own journey as well.

Perhaps most inspiring, though, was Jadon’s action plan for implementing what he learned. Instead of trying to overhaul everything at once, he identified three key priorities:

  1. Rolling out DISC profiles for his team.
  2. Developing clear KRAs (Key Result Areas) for each team member.
  3. Implementing a weekly accountability system.

It’s a fantastic example of how to take massive action without overwhelming your team.

As someone who has been through the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University program, I can attest to the life-changing impact of Ramsey’s principles. Based on Jadon’s experience at the EntreLeadership Master Series, it’s clear these insights go far beyond personal finance—they’re a blueprint for business and personal success.

If you’re a green industry leader looking to take your business to new heights, I highly encourage you to check out EntreLeadership events. And, of course, keep an ear out for more wisdom from Jadon Wise on future episodes of The Kid Contractor Podcast. His passion for growth and development is truly infectious.
